New Years Day Reflections
Dear Friend who is pausing to reflect during New Years Day,
I feel the need to cultivate that sacred pause to reflect on the year and my future as well. In my opinion, the New Year is a time for us to realize that we have a second chance at life, a do over, and a new start. We forget that every moment carries this same opportunity but as a collective its neat to honor this time of year.
I feel there are some deeper questions that we can ask ourselves during our sacred pause. But always coming from a space of self compassion and empathy…Here are a few that I’m asking myself today…I extend the invitation to you as well. Now, get cozy, take a deep breath…and then another…now drop your awareness into your heart…
Deep Heartfelt Inquiry
What was meaningful for you over this past year?
If you were on your death bed, what memories and relationships would you treasure?
What would be most important to you?
What would you feel grateful for as you reflect upon your life?
From a space of compassion, what would you imagine you wished you did more of or less of?
How might you live greatly from this perspective in the new year and all the new moments ahead of you?
What loving action(s) is your heart asking of you?
The reality is that we are all going to leave this physical world, I’m reminded of that every day as a medium. This perspective makes you realize that every smile counts, every random act of kindness counts, every hug, every shared belly laugh and every color of life is precious. We might as well treasure these moments while we have a physical body, live life from our heart, love big and brave. Cherishing the subtle sparkles that are the miracles of everlasting life within and beyond this physical one.
I don’ t know about you, but to stay in this perspective is a practice…this human experience can be very distracting to what is real in our heart. This is where meditation helps.
On 12/30/24 during our Monday Morning Meditation Group, I shared the meditation below. It’s a way for you to acknowledge the past, the wisdom from the past and also aspects of your past that may have served you in some way but no longer will for your future. To acknowledge these aspects from the eyes of love, compassion, and understanding as you cultivate the relationship with your own soul’s true expression of creativity. When we are creating we are in the flow of life, we allow our hearts to take the lead to show us the way forward. With that we can experience the miracle of life in the ordinary everyday moments and allow for the divine creative love to be experienced by us and through us. This meditation guides you into the experience of this process. Have a journal handy:)
What I hope you get out of this experience is just want you’re looking for; an opportunity to honor the wisdom of your past, celebrate your future, cultivate a deeper relationship with your own soul and the spirit(s) that are loving you into life, and experience the miracles in your present moment. Happy New Year…Happy New Every Moment!
Enjoy my friend!
I see you and I love you,
Becky
