GOOD NEWS: You are NOT your thoughts

Yes. We are not our thoughts.  We are the awareness of them.  When I came across this realization it was a game changer.  All those decades believing every thought became crippling, and I didn’t even know it because I was so immersed in the story of my thoughts!  I couldn’t see outside of my own thoughts. But now that I can, I have to tell you that on the other side of thought is a WORLD of love, possibility, purpose, and healing.

We can’t stop the thoughts from visiting us.  All the colors of thoughts are shared and recycled thoughts, not only shared with you but EVERYONE else!  We all get a turn witnessing those weird, crazy, and unhelpful thoughts.

What if we were no longer hijacked by the crippling thoughts that we are believing?  I’ll tell you how I got off of the dilapidated circus ferris wheel of looping self sabotaging thoughts that leads to self sabotaging action.

Meditation.

Meditation helps us cultivate the sacred pause between thought and awareness.  We can’t stop the thoughts from visiting our conscious mind but we can begin to realize the aspect of ourselves that is the awareness of everything, including thoughts.

Take a moment and imagine thoughts as an guest coming in through your open door.  Imagine that you are sitting calmly at your sofa with a cup of tea in your hand and see this visitor come in your home and sit next to you on the sofa.  You begin to notice your visitors presence, their energy, how they make you feel, WOW they are powerful, you ask if they would like some tea (because you have nothing but love for everything including visitors).  You stay in the presence of this visitor viewing them through eyes of love until eventually they decide to go.

What if because you’ve seen the visitor through eyes of love, the visitor now exits your door in a more uplifted state.  Ready to visit the next home with a more uplifting presence?  What if?

Just because they visited you doesn’t mean that they now live in your home and can start claiming space there.  Eventually they will naturally leave and another visitor will come, you’ll sit with them and see them through your loving eyes until they leave which they always do.

If you’ve been holding those unhelpful visitors captive, now is the time to let them go.

You are not your thoughts. You are the loving awareness. The loving home that welcomes all and infuses it with love.

Namaste,

Becky
