Word of the Day
Messages from the spirit world come in all different ways. Here was mine from today and I’m being elbowed to share with you all. Word of the day 6/11/19 according to dictionary.com!
“esprit de l’escalier”
(french word literally translates to: spirit of the staircase)
During a session last week I was told by a client’s Dad in spirit that I need to expand my “inner library” so much so that I was nudged to add the “notifications” feature from my Dictonary.com app on my phone (gotta love spirit people). So I did so yesterday! Then, today I see this word pop up on my phone! I was shocked to see this word. I knew it was my Dad giving me a message. For those who have known me for a long time understand why this would blow my mind, for those who didn’t know me since before I was married, here is why: “esprit” is French for Spirit. As you all know I love spirit people and love mediumship. “Escalier” was my maiden name! Actually spelled “Escallier”. My Dad, Stanley Paul Escallier, passed about almost three years ago. While he was here he was an alcoholic, destructive, and not someone I was able to be around. As a daughter of an alcoholic I always wanted to be loved by him but never felt it when he as alive. Now that he’s in the spirit world we have been mending our relationship and he’s been showing up for me in big ways, this is one of them. I never really understood the significance of my maiden name Escallier, but today I do.
As I saw this notification I looked into the definition right way. Here is the definition from Dictionary.com
Noun: a perfect comeback or witty remark that one frustratingly comes up with only when the moment for doing so has passed.
Origin: From French philosopher and encyclopedist Denis Diderot stating from one of his essays “a sensitive man like me, entirely overcome by the objection made against him, loses his head and can only recover his wits at the bottom of the staircase, that is, after he has left the gathering.”
As a message from spirit, the beautiful magic is that we can all take pieces. How I interpret this message is that my Dad was only able to see, think, and feel clearly after his passing and now is able to fully speak his truth. I love that mediumship and our availability to spirit offers our loved ones on the other side to express themselves to their loved ones here. We all understand what it’s like to know what the best thing to say would be after the fact, with mediumship our loved ones on the other side can. For all of us that are still here in this “gathering” we can learn from the spirit world that its important to show up as clean and clear as possible so we can express our true selves the best way we know how. What is holding you back from living your best life, showing up in your truth, and most importantly, expressing the love and gratitude you have for others? This message is a call to action. Let’s not wait until “after the fact”. Let’s all get brave and share our voice with those we love (within and all around). Much love to you all.
