Meditation Benefits: A Journey with Meditation

When I started Meditating:

I remember when I first started meditating I felt like I wanted to burst out of my skin, I couldn't stand it. My mind would have a screaming tantrum and my body felt like a pressure cooker about to burst. To be alone with my thoughts was not a place I ever wanted to be. I never realized that those thoughts would be there regardless and my habitual thinking was like a dilapidated ferris wheel looping me back into the same distractive behaviors over and over without me ever realizing it.

In 2016 I realized I could get off of this ferris wheel and claim my life, occupy my heart and mental real-estate. My determination to change my life over powered my mental/physical resistance. Meditation became part of my self care plan and has changed my life for the better.

What I learned:

  • Meditation is like a muscle that gets stronger as you go.

  • The goal with meditation is not to have “NO thought” but rather bring your awareness to the aspect of you that is aware of the thoughts and to detach from them.

  • We are not our thoughts we are the observer of them.

  • Meditation creates space between thought and action.

  • With a meditation practice, we become less “hijacked” by thought and more available to choose heartfelt action.

    • It’s been helpful with my response to my children, husband, and other relationships. In addition to that, I’ve become more in touch with my loving inner guidance system and more productive, because I am not giving (as much) weight to my procrastinating thoughts.

What Changed Within Me:

Having meditation as a component to my self care plan I began to shed the old and reveal my truth. My life became simpler, I let go of old patterns, cultivated a bond between myself and my inner guidance system. From 2017-2018 my life took a new direction towards a path that I would have never imagined. I left my corporate life for a career as a Medium and Intuitive Healer.

Meditation Benefits:

In October 2020 I became a Certified Add Heart Facilitator from the Heart Math Institute. Add Heart is science based meditative technique developed by the Heart Math Institute. The evidence-based technique builds the relationship between the heart and brain. It’s used by organizations around the world, such as Fortune 500 companies, Schools, Hospitals, Professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, professional golfers and olympians, and Navy Seals.

The Add Heart technique is used to help with:

  • Better performance

  • Reduce anxiety

  • Regulate our emotions

  • Move out of the stress and strain of everyday life so we can have a more positive outlook on life

  • Connect with others in a more meaningful way

  • Direct benefits with our physical health include;

    • Immune system

    • Hormonal response

    • Health of our heart

    • Nervous system

At the Present Moment:

I know that my personal development fuels my availability to be a Medium and Intuitive Healer, Mother, Wife, Daughter, and community member. I continue on my lifelong journey towards self discovery and healing. I have a daily self care plan which includes a meditation practice. Since September 2019 I have been leading weekly meditations with our live Monday Morning Meditation Group. Meditation has been a blessing for me and it gives me great joy to share it with you and others. During these complex times I feel it’s important to take care of ourselves and I extend the invitation to you to join our live weekly meditation group, where you meditate and breathe in unison with others in real time from the comfort of your own home. To learn more about the group click HERE. All of the meditations I’ve shared have been recorded and now trickling in, on my YouTube Channel. Please enjoy them and share with others who can benefit from the uplifting experience these meditations offer.

Namaste,

Becky
